Fool Me Once..

Reflecting on my elementary days, I'm nearly positive that the most disappointing aspect of my entire childhood would probably be the night the tooth fairy "forgot" to visit. Being the intuitive second grader that I was, I found it no coincidence that this incident also happened to be the day that I had "forgotten" to tell my parents that I lost my tooth at school. I don't especially remember dwelling long on this disappointment, but that's how all disappointments were at that age; they were quickly overcome with an extra ice cream token at lunch or by watching my favorite Disney movie after school. And this is back when Disney movies were the classics, none of the type of Disney movies you see now a days. The good ole, classic, original Disney movies. OH WAIT. Or so I thought, until while studying for my radio television and film final I come across this. Are you kidding me?? Congrats Disney, you have officially accomplished deception at it's finest...

Procrastination Station

in lieu of upcoming finals, or as you may be coming to an end, I'm aware that people strangely will find anything and everything they can do to procrastinate actually having to open a book. As an A+ procrastinator, surfing the web is somewhat my specialty, and finals time brings out the worst of me. To throw some fuel on the fire, here are a couple of things that I have been introduced to or have come across this week that have effectively postponed any studying that I could have even thought about doing:

Personally, most of my time has been consumed by obsessively making up for my iTunes library getting deleted and having absolutely no music. This website was the answer to all my problems... http://www.video2mp3.net

Secondly, as I do take great pride in my knack for finding great youtube videos, I owe credit to a friend that introduced this one to me. For those who appreciate film, or more specifically movie trailers, check this one out. I couldn't have put it better myself.

Although it might be a bit clique at this point, if you haven't yet been introduced to gloZell, allow me:
People have mixed opinions towards her, but I honestly have no idea how you can't watch this video and not smile. Look around at her other stuff too, she's got some good ones..

Productivity is Overrated

. Thursday, April 1, 2010

Thursday afternoon, and I have officially attended my first class of the week. Earlier in the week, I made a managerial decision to boycott class this week to reward myself for surviving the past three weeks. Honestly, I don't understand why more people don't do this. Life's not going to forget about you if you take a week off. (although you may have to deal with some repercussions) However it is well deserved. To all the stress cases out there here's my advise to you- take a chill pill, maybe a deep breath and stop everything all together. I'm not saying give up on school/work, but put life on hold. My week consisted of sleeping in, basking in the wonderful Austin sun, daily runs to snobeach (for those who aren't familiar this is the worlds greatest snow cone place) , where from there I would return to my basking. So on and so forth, lather, rinse, and repeat. All day everyday. This week can be summarized by two things: A. the lease productive week of my life - and B. the BEST WEEK EVER! Funny how that happens, right? And this leads me to my next point- the undoubtably clique, yet ever important epiphany .. productivity is overrated. Plain and simple. Over and out. The less productive you are, the more laid back you can be- which I'm guessing is kind of like the whole "exercise gives you endorphins" thing. Whatever the case- it's healthy for you to chill out. I'm almost positive that this new outlook is going to take me places, and on the off chance it doesn't then we can reevaluate. But I'm sticking to this for now.
